About me

I photographed my first wedding in 1999 and then went on to do several other friends and family weddings. In 2000 I started work with the Kodak Elegante Weddings organisation and remained with them for 2 years. In 2003 I started work with a Waterlooville photographer called John Abbott before setting up my own photography business in 2006 in Southsea, Portsmouth, Hants which now includes weddings, portraits, event, corporate and sport photography.

My documentary style is unobtrusive - brides often remark that they forgot I was there on the day which is exactly what I like to hear. The day is about the bride and the groom and friends and family and not about the photographer - hence I blend into the background as much as possible - apart from the group shots that is, for which I suggest that the couple spend no longer than 20 minutes. I then take the bride and groom away for about 15-20 minutes for some relaxed personal shots using the venue location. After that it's back with friends and family to enjoy the day.

As for the equipment I use:
  • Nikon equipment with top of the range professional camera bodies and lenses for the highest possible quality
  • A complete backup kit of two Nikon bodies and lenses plus spare flashguns and batteries
  • studio lighting should the weather be unsuitable
  • Professional Indemnity insurance for your peace of mind
To summarise, I offer over 14 years of experience coupled with excellent value for money, unobtrusive and a style that is contemporary, but still also traditional.....
